The World Scout Jamboree is organized by the World Organization of the Scout Movement. The Boy Scout program began in 1907 in London and was founded by Robert Baden-Powell. The first World Scout Jamboree was held in London and, with the exception of the war years, it has been held every four years in different locations around the world.

The goal of the World Jamboree is to foster brotherhood among members of the Boy Scouts throughout the world. Boy Scouts attending the jamborees learn about other nations and the people within those countries. Young boys have the opportunity to interact with others through direct interaction with each other during the events at the jamboree.

The next scheduled World Jamboree will be held in the year 2011 at Rinkaby, Sweden. Please contact the Boy Scouts of America for more information about the World Jamboree.
